Pastor Larry Herron was born in Clayton, Alabama in 1957 to Miss Maybell Herron. He is the twelfth child of thirteen children. In September 1980 he attended Zion Temple Church of God in Christ and on that night the sermon “There’s A New Tenant In The Apartment” was preached by Evangelist Moore. When Larry Herron came to church that night he was on drugs and alcohol. That night he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and became a new creature in Christ and no longer had a desire for the things of the world: On February 14, 1981 the Lord filled him with the precious promise of the Holy Ghost. He met Bernita C. Richardson in November 22, 1980 and the Lord saw fit to bless them in Holy Matrimony on May 23, 1981. On May 16, 1982, Larry Herron accepted the call into the ministry and preached his introductory sermon “Walk Thou Before Me, and Be Thou Perfect” at Solomon Temple Church of God in Christ in Savannah, Georgia in June 1982, under the leadership of Pastor Ezel Ward. The following year he worked at Mission Outreach in Statesboro, Georgia spreading the Word of God. His military career then took him to Korea where he was stationed at Camp Humphrey. He attended the Gospel Service where he presided as Pastor of the Gospel Service and was very active in the prison ministry and the ministry to the orphans from July 1983 until May 1984.
